Cross Body Bicep Curls

I call this exercise 'cross body', because you are bringing the dumbbells from your hips, to the contralateral (opposite side) chest, so across the body. The movement means there is a greater angle acting against the biceps and this means that more damage will be done to the muscle, enabling more growth and more tone, compared to that of a normal dumbbell curl. Not only that, but with a normal dumbbell curl, you actually lose a bit of tension at the top because the dumbbells final position is beyond the pull of gravity, whereas with cross body curls, the dumbbell finished within the pull of gravity, so you get a deeper contraction.
